SCOPE OF WORK

Cast-in-place repair at slab edges, columns, and beams — formed, shored, and placed under EOR-approved scope.

Applicable Standards

ACI 318, ACI 301, ACI 305R (hot weather), ACI 306R (cold weather), ASTM C31, C39, C138, C143, C173, C231, C309

Pre-Construction
  • Concrete mix design: coordinate with ready-mix supplier; submit for EOR review minimum 7 days before pour.
  • Formwork review: evaluate contractor forming system for load capacity, deflection, and stripping sequence.
  • Pre-pour checklist: verify rebar placement, cover, splices, embeds, cleanliness, and form security.
Concrete Placement
  • Place concrete per approved mix design (minimum 4,000 psi typical; 5,000+ psi for high-strength).
  • Pump, crane-and-bucket, or chute delivery; vibration consolidation at maximum 18" spacing.
  • Finishing: broom, trowel, float, or specialty architectural finish per project specification.
Curing
  • Minimum 7-day wet cure with wet burlap, curing blankets, or curing compound per ASTM C309.
  • Cold weather per ACI 306R: heating enclosure required when ambient < 40°F; protect minimum 5 days.
  • Hot weather per ACI 305R: pre-cool aggregate and water; fog spray; wind breaks as needed.
Slab-on-Grade
  • Subgrade: compact to 95% Proctor minimum; verify with proof-roll.
  • Install 10-mil vapor barrier; lap seams 12"; turn up at edges.
  • Saw-cut control joints within 4 hours of final set.
Quality Control
  • Test cylinders: minimum 3 per 50 CY; ASTM C31; test at 7 and 28 days.
  • Slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight at each truck load tested.
  • Special inspections per IBC Chapter 17 for all structural concrete.
